What You Can Expect

After pickup at your hotel in Cancun, travel to Chichen Itza, about 2.5 hours away, in the middle of the Yucatan peninsula.

Enjoy a buffet lunch and drinks for purchase before meeting your guide, a certified archaeologist, to take a 1.5-hour tour of Chichen Itza. Thi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that played an important role in Mayan society from 600 to 1200 AD. Visit the Kukulcán Pyramid, the observatory, the nunnery, the ball court and other major landmarks in within the ruins.

You then have free time to explore on your own before finding your seat for the 20-minute Light and Sound Show. Watch as the show brings to life all of the history and mythology you learned on your daytime tour of the ruins. See the Kukulcán Pyramid as it may have looked thousands of years ago and the vibrant activities that took place in this ancient city. Watch a powerful narrative drama told through images projected onto the pyramid itself and other nearby structures.

Your evening of history and entertainment ends with transportation back to your Cancun hotel, arriving around midnight.

• There is no charge to bring a camera into the ruins, but you must pay $50 pesos for video camera.
• Don’t bring tripod for your camera, as it is not allowed to get these inside the Mayan Ruins.
• Bring walking shoes, hat, perhaps an extra shirt, sun block, swimming suit and towel.
• You may want to bring a light sweater or jacket as it could get cold on the transportation on our way to Chichén Itzá and back.
• You may bring your own snacks
• Please bring cash for souvenirs and personal expense
• Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
